For several years now, Sachtleben’s titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc/barium for the food and pharmaceutical industries have been meeting the strictest requirements of the Islamic dietary Halal laws. For its re-certification audit, the internationally recognized certification system HCAS/QS of Halal Control has once again classified Sachtleben’s products and manufacturing processes as trustworthy and legitimate with respect to Islamic law. Therefore, Muslim consumers worldwide can be confident that Sachtleben pigments and particles used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food conform to Halal law.

Jörg Brendel, who is responsible for quality management at Sachtleben, is very satisfied that the two auditors from Halal Control have again given positive marks: “As I see it, high-quality food additives, perfect cosmetic raw materials or pharmaceutical substances must meet basic needs of all consumers, regardless of religious restrictions.”

For Muslims, in particular, food must be admissible, that is to say Halal. Because it is not always apparent whether a product conforms to Halal standards, many Muslim consumers forego food products or important pharmaceuticals, therefore potentially putting their health at risk.

With the quality-based certification system of Halal Control, the manufacturers now find it possible to produce products that conform to the internationally recognized Halal standards. For the end user, the approval seal of Halal Control is a guarantee of a pure and reliable Halal product.
